FAQ
Why did BiteCalBox get my meal wrong?
Photo and search logging are estimates to start from, not final answers — that's why every meal goes through a review step before it's logged. If something is consistently off, tell us what dish and we'll look at improving it.
Can I log a meal without using AI at all?
Yes. Manual entry lets you add ingredients and amounts directly, with no photo or search step involved.
Does BiteCalBox work offline?
No — BiteCalBox is a web app, so you'll need an internet connection to use it. Nothing runs offline.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete account in the app, or email us and we'll take care of it — your account and data start being removed right away, on both free and Pro. One catch: deleting your account doesn't cancel an active subscription. If you're on BiteCalBox Pro, cancel it separately through Google Play or your Apple ID (or via your Paddle receipt if you subscribed on the web), or you'll keep being charged. Full steps are on the data deletion page.
If I delete my account, what happens to the meals I logged?
Your profile and log history are deleted and can't be recovered. (We don't store meal photos at all — they're used once to identify the food, then discarded.) The ingredient and macro breakdown behind those meals is kept, but fully disconnected from you — it's used to keep improving recognition accuracy for everyone, not to identify you. See the data deletion page for the full breakdown.
I found a bug. What should I include in my report?
The device and app version you're on, what you expected to happen, and what happened instead. A screenshot helps more than a paragraph.
